Originally from Arizona, Mrs. Barten is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where she met her husband, Jordan. She then began her teaching career in special education, first in the Preschool Program for Disabilities (PPCD) and later as an Elementary Resource teacher. She later attained her certification in Core Subjects with Science of Teaching Reading for EC-6.

After staying home with their three children, Mrs. Barten joined the St. Anthony School staff in 2016, where she excels in teaching 3rd grade Reading, Language Arts, Religion, and Social Studies, as well as 4th grade Religion and Social Studies. She sponsors Junior High electives, cheer, and Punk-n-Rock as well as serves as Catholic Schools Week coordinator. Mrs. Barten has a passion for cultivating relationships with her students that help foster not only a love for learning, but for a meaningful connection with God.

In her free time, she enjoys reading novels, working in her yard, and playing with her dog, Sweetie.
